Travis has been Bartending in Las Vegas since 2000 and has contributed cocktails and inspiration to various cocktail menus over his time on the strip. Here at Mixology Made Simple he edits and contributes content on a regular basis and we look forward to his upcoming articles and photos!


Wendy Helene Hodges

Wendy has been “behind the stick” since 1982. Her focus for the last 9 years has been on hand crafted cocktails. The technical term used today for what she does is Mixologist, but she likes to call herself a “throw back” bartender.

Currently working at the Fusion Latin Mixology bar in the Palazzo, Wendy gets creative 5 days a week for your viewing and tasting pleasure! She is also a member of the USBG Las Vegas chapter, travels around the country mixin’ it up for Mixology events, and works with couples to create one of a kind specialty cocktails for their weddings.

“Like the bartenders from back in the day, I use all fresh ingredients in my cocktails. I specialize in creating cocktails specifically for my guest’s tastes as well as staying true to classic cocktails and the art behind them.”

“My specialty drink changes according to the guest I am serving. My two favorite cocktails to make are the original 1944 Trader Vic Mai Tai and the Spirit in Amber which is my twist on the classic Peruvian Pisco Sour. The Spirit in Amber won me a trip to Lima Peru to compete for the national Pisco Sour Champion title.”

Adam Rains of Las Vegas Cocktail Weekly
Hailing from San Diego, Adam has been behind the bar for more than a decade.  He splits time between two Rock Star Chefs, Mario Batali and Gordon Ramsay. Taking cues from his boss’s near obsession with using only the freshest and best ingredients, its Adam’s mission to utilize and promote fresh, seasonal and local ingredients.  He has volunteered at two of the local Las Vegas Farmers Markets.
One of Adam’s mantras is that one should be constantly learning in life.  As part of this learning, Mr. Rains is a Alumni of SDSU and has a B.A. in International Business, with minors in Spanish and Latin American Studies.  He has completed both BarSmarts Wired and Advanced; along with the International Sommeliers Guild, Wine Fundamentals Level’s 1&2, he passed the Court of Master Sommeliers Level 1 and was recently a West Coast finalist for Diageo World Class.
Adam is also a contributor to Las Vegas for the Food & Beverage Professional magazine and writes a monthly column on cocktails. In order to further his own knowledge and to help others, he has also started a podcast centering on Cocktails and Las Vegas called “Las Vegas Cocktail Weekly.”  Every week(or bi-weekly) there is a spirit focus, Las Vegas news, a “Mystery Cocktail” segment and he also interviews different people in the industry.  Adam Rains “the Quiet Storm” also composes and records some of the music for his podcast.  After asking Mr. Rains about his main reason for starting this podcast, he replied “It’s a chance for me to go out and have a cocktail…”
